(September 2025, Weihai, Shandong) Recently, the fourth Forum on the Sodium-Ion Battery Industry Chain and Standard Development— an industry event themed "The Sodium-Ion Battery Industry Chain and Standard Development"—was successfully held in Weihai, Shandong. This forum brought together top enterprises, research institutions, and expert scholars from all segments of the industry chain to jointly explore innovative breakthroughs in sodium-ion battery technology and the development of a standardized system. The research team led by Researcher Wang Zhenbo from Harbin Institute of Technology, including the chief scientist of ZheJiang VASTSIB Technology Co., Ltd., a foreign academician of Russia, was invited to attend the forum. Representing the team, Deng Liang, a deputy researcher in the Department of Electrochemical Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology and a core member of the team, delivered a special report titled "Controllable Preparation and Performance Study of Phosphate Cathode Materials for Sodium-Ion Batteries," sharing the company's latest R&D progress in the field of core materials for sodium-ion batteries, which sparked a warm response from the audience.

At the main venue of the forum, Associate Researcher Deng Liang gave a detailed presentation on the key technological breakthroughs achieved by the research team led by Researcher Wang Zhenbo—based at the National Key Laboratory of Space Power and the Department of Electrochemical Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology—in the controlled synthesis, structural optimization, and enhanced electrochemical performance of phosphate cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries. The report pointed out that VASTSIB Technology, through precise material design and controllable preparation processes, has successfully developed phosphate-based cathode materials with high specific capacity, long cycle life, and excellent safety performance, providing a solid material foundation for the industrial-scale application of high-performance, low-cost sodium-ion batteries. The report was comprehensive and featured cutting-edge insights, attracting great attention from numerous attendees, including representatives from well-known companies present at the event.

During the forum, the delegates also conducted an on-site visit to the “Beijing Energy (Rongcheng) Chengshan Town 200MW/400MWh Shared Energy Storage Project,” gaining firsthand experience of the application potential of sodium-ion batteries in large-scale energy storage. This field trip underscored the industry’s active exploration and high expectations for sodium-ion battery technology to realize the vision of “bringing clean, inclusive, and green energy to every corner of the world” in scaled-up energy storage scenarios—aligning closely with VASTSIB’s corporate mission.
VASTSIB Technology has always been committed to the innovative R&D and industrial promotion of sodium-ion battery technology. The insightful presentations at this forum not only highlighted the company's technological leadership in core cathode materials but also demonstrated its deep integration into the sodium battery industry ecosystem and its determination to actively promote the development of industry standards. Looking ahead, VASTSIB will continue to collaborate closely with partners across the industrial chain to jointly advance the technology and applications of sodium-ion batteries, contributing to the global transition toward green energy.
